Clearing The Plains, and clearing the air. How searching for the loss of Indigenous health led to some uncomfortable truths about Canada’s past – and present.
Dr. James Daschuk is the winner of the 2014 Governor General’s Award for Canadian for Scholarly Research (Sir John A. Macdonald Prize) for Clearing The Plains – Disease, Politics of Starvation and the Loss of Aboriginal Life. He will be giving a public talk in Prince Albert on Thursday, March 19, 7 p.m. at the J.M. Cuelenaere Library, Mahon Auditorium, 125 12th Street East.
