SPHERU is working with Brandon University on a study, led by Principal Investigator William Care, examining the health of postsecondary students in rural communities. Students, community partners, and researchers are creating partnerships to identify and take action on the factors tied to the health, well-being and quality of life for university and college students at postsecondary institutions in Brandon, Manitoba, and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Research strategies include focus groups, workshops, campus meetings and the use of photography in addition to a website, student blog and online surveys.

Goals / Outcomes: Data from the study will provide a basis for the creation of a student community health framework and a set of indicators to measure student and quality of life.
